Jacksonville Partner Insurance Update
Nemours Children’s is committed to improving the health and well-being of the children and families we serve. An important part of that commitment is maintaining strong partnerships and relationships to ensure patients can access the high-quality, specialized care they need.
Nemours patient families with a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida (Florida Blue) plan may have heard of the discussions between Baptist Health, which includes Wolfson Children’s, and Florida Blue. They are trying to reach an agreement before their current contracts expire on September 30, 2024. If they cannot reach an agreement, Wolfson Children’s will be considered “out-of-network.” This may impact care provided by Nemours and Wolfson Children’s after that date.
As Baptist Health and Florida Blue work toward an agreement, we have launched this online resource to provide Nemours patient families with information on the potential impacts to their care.
Important Things to Know:
- Nemours will still be in network with Florida Blue.
- While these discussions are between Baptist Health and Florida Blue, if their current contracts expire, it could impact some Nemours patients who have care provided by Wolfson Children’s.
- If Baptist Health and Florida Blue are unable to reach an agreement, their contract would expire on September 30, 2024.
- For dates of service prior to September 30, 2024, Nemours patients who receive care by Wolfson Children’s can continue treatment arrangements without any changes.
Nemours, including its clinicians, will remain in network with Florida Blue. However, below are a few of the services provided by Wolfson Children’s that may be impacted if an agreement is not reached:
- Treatment at the Eckstein Family Infusion Suite at THE PLAYERS Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders Outpatient specialty care
- Imaging/Radiology
- Surgery and anesthesia
- Pediatric cardiothoracic surgery and cardiac critical care
- Pediatric unit care at Wolfson Children’s Hospital
- Team-based pediatric programs that manage chronic and complex conditions with a team of specialists
