Asthma BMI Baseline Study (ABBS)

What is the trial about?

The purpose of this study is to learn about the characteristics of asthma and other related symptoms in people who have a high body mass index (BMI) and whose asthma is not well controlled. This study will help us determine the feasibility of a future trial of medications for asthma.

Who can participate?

Male or female age 18 years or older, who have asthma that is not well controlled, and who's body mass index (BMI) is 30 kg/m2 or more. (BMI is a person’s weight in kilograms (KG) divided by his or her height in meters squared).

What is involved?

You will be asked to complete a medical history, spirometry, several questionnaires and an optional blood draw. Ther are two clinic visits, about 4 weeks apart.
