Pulmonology

Helping Kids Breathe Their Best

Baby receiving a breathing treatment in the hospital.

Our board-certified pediatric pulmonologists (lung and respiratory care doctors) treat infants, children and teens with diseases of the lungs and airways. These doctors, along with pediatric respiratory therapists (health care professionals who provide breathing therapy), care for kids in family-friendly settings — where your child can stay overnight or get care the same day. And, because asthma and other pediatric pulmonology diseases can affect different parts of the body, we work closely with other Nemours specialists as needed.

Conditions We Treat

Conditions We Treat

We see a full spectrum of conditions — far too many to list here. The conditions we treat vary depending upon the location and providers selected. Don’t see a condition listed? Call us.

  • asthma and high-risk asthma
  • bronchopulmonary dysplasia (inflammation and scarring in the lungs that develops in premature babies after being on a ventilator for a prolonged period of time)

  • restless leg syndrome (need for movement during sleep)
  • shortness of breath
  • sickle cell disease
  • sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing problems
  • sleep difficulty and insomnia (trouble falling or staying asleep)
