Hyundai Hope On Wheels, a generous partner of Nemours in supporting programs for children with cancer and pediatric cancer research, has awarded a Hyundai Scholar grant of $75,000 to Emi Caywood, MD of the Division of Hematology/Oncology. The funds will be used to develop a research infrastructure that enhances clinical trial accrual and improves data management, integrity and best practices across four Nemours clinical sites. The check was presented during the Hope On Wheels signature Handprint Ceremony at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. At the ceremony, two young cancer patients dipped their hands in colorful paint and placed their handprints on a white Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, the official vehicle of Hope On Wheels.
In 2013, Hope On Wheels will donate 40 Hyundai Scholar Grants totaling $3 million to institutions across the country. Recipients of these grants are known as Hyundai Scholars.
