Why I Treat Children
I believe that from a very young age, I have always had a special way of connecting with children. As a medical student I was fascinated by how resilient children are when facing stress, trauma, illness and challenges. When dealing with young patients who are often afraid of things like shots, developing a rapport and connection with them helps me in providing care for their emotional, physical and social development.
What I'm Passionate About
As a pediatrician, one of the roles I particularly focus on has been working with children and adolescents — and their families — to both prevent and treat childhood obesity. As rates of childhood obesity increase in the U.S., I am dedicated to helping my young patients and their parents overcome the obesity epidemic. Some of my specific areas of interest are: attention deficit disorder (ADD) breathing issues nutrition prevention and treatment of childhood obesity
How I Try to Make A Difference
As the mother of two beautiful girls, I too, find myself going through the parenting journey. I understand the importance of listening to each child and their parents’ concerns. Through the practice of evidence-based medicine I want to help parents understand and promote their child’s healthy development.
