Animal-Assisted Activities

Patients, families, and staff alike love the days our furry, four-legged friends pay us a visit. Who doesn’t like getting (and giving) unconditional love from an ultra-sweet dog?

We’re thankful that volunteer certified handlers and their highly trained pets come hang out with us, not only because it’s fun, but it helps children and families in so many ways.

It’s proven that animal assisted activities can:

  • reduce stress
  • improve self-esteem
  • lower blood pressure
  • improve overall well-being
  • and much more
