Why I Treat Children
I’ve always been interested in helping children — particularly those who have special needs as a result of a medical condition. My uncle was born with hydrocephalus (called “water on the brain”). In the 1950s, he was one of the first patients to undergo shunt placement. Even so, he still had special needs because of his condition. My uncle’s condition impacted me greatly and inspired me to help others like him.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m especially passionate about advocating for kids and teens with chronic medical conditions or special needs. I love helping those who maybe can’t always speak for themselves; those who need someone in their court. I’ve enjoyed helping families and patients in the community through various outreach programs.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I aim to help parents better understand their child’s needs, as it pertains to the child’s cognitive and behavioral development. I want to provide tools for families that will help children thrive and be successful in life. Part of that success includes connecting families to benefits and services they might not know about. When you are armed with knowledge, you can better advocate for your child.
