What is the trial about?

This is a multi-hospital registry that includes patients who have a mechanical circulatory support device (MCSD). The purpose of the registry is to collect information to help understand and improve the lives of patients with advanced heart failure by studying patient characteristics, device function, implantation procedures, and the possible side effects that can occur with MCSD placement. 

Who can participate?

All children who are going to receive a mechanical circulatory support device are eligible for this study.

What is involved?

All participants in this study will have information collected from the medical chart at scheduled intervals. Staff within the hospital will also collect age appropriate quality of life questionnaires from the child and/or parent. Children 10 years of age or older will complete a limited walk test.
