Biography

John W. Erickson OD, FAAO, is a provider of optometric expertise at Nemours Children's Specialty Care, Jacksonville since 2013. He earned his degree in optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He continued his training with a residency in pediatric optometry at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Erickson specializes in fitting contact lenses in children after cataract surgery. He is a primary investigator in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) that studies the treatment of pediatric eye disease such as strabismus and amblyopia. He frequently presents lectures and research on pediatric eye care at regional and national meetings.
