Biography

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Dr Patel studied Physiological Sciences at Newcastle University after which he attended medical school in Grenada at St. George's University. Subsequently he working as a house officer in the National Health Service, UK followed by a move to the United States where he completed both his Pediatric residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He further completed a combined Pediatric/Adult Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Children's National Medical Center/George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He currently serves as the Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound, Director of GME Quality and Safety and continues to be a passionate Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician at Nemours Children's Hospital, Orlando. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at The University of Central Florida College of Medicine. His current interests lie in the fields of Emergency Ultrasound, Education and Diagnostic Excellence.
