Biography

Alexandra Monzon, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Nemours Center for Healthcare Delivery Science and a pediatric psychology fellow at Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida. She is an affiliated Assistant Professor of Medical Education at the University of Central Florida, College of Medicine. Dr. Monzon received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Miami, her master's degree in clinical psychological assessment from Vanderbilt University, and her doctoral degree in clinical child psychology from the University of Kansas. She completed her clinical residency in pediatric psychology at Nemours Children’s Hospital. Dr. Monzon's research goals include developing and implementing interventions that address barriers to positive health behaviors (i.e., sleep) and adaptive coping in youth with chronic health conditions and their families. She is particularly interested in utilizing innovative technologies to measure individual factors and outcomes of interest as they relate to health disparities in groups experiencing barriers to care. Dr. Monzon seeks to assess specific barriers that impede healthcare decision-making to identify solutions at the person and system levels.
