Biography

Charlotte qualified from Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry (University of London) in 2001. She holds her MBBS, a First-Class Honours BSc in Experimental Pathology, a PhD in Clinical Medical Sciences (Neurogenetics) and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Neurological Surgery (FRCS). Her higher surgical training in Neurosurgery was on the London South Thames rotation through King's College Hospital London, St Georges University Hospital London and Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre, Haywards Heath. Following completion of her Neurosurgical training she undertook a 1-year Skull Base fellowship at The Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences. She took up her 1st Consultant post at The Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences in 2013. During her tenure she was Morbidity & Mortality lead, Governance lead, Clinical Lead for Neurosurgery and then Clinical Director for Surgical Neurosciences. Charlotte moved to University Hospitals Sussex in November 2022 to take over the lead role of the Skull Base service. She specialises in treating all skull base conditions including vestibular schwannoma, meningioma and trigeminal neuralgia. She was appointed Clinical Lead for Cranial Neurosurgery in January 2024. Charlotte is a Society of British Neurological Surgeons and British Skull Base Society elected council member. She is Secretary of the National Vestibular Schwannoma Audit research committee.
