Understanding the Long-Term Impact of COVID-19 in Children: The RECOVER Post Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC) Pediatric Cohort Study
The purpose of this study is to understand how COVID, the infection caused by a virus called SARS-CoV-2, affects child health, and why some children who get COVID are still sick many months after being infected.
People who are between the ages of newborn and 25, and have or have not had COVID-19.
This study takes place in 1-3 parts and can include one visit, or up to 4 years of follow up. We are asking whether you and your child are interested in Part 1 and/or 2 of the study. We may also ask your child to be in Part 3 of this study as well.
Part 1: You will be asked to answer surveys about your child's health, COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccine, and to have blood and saliva (spit) collected.
Part 2: Will include about 5 study visits across 4 years. These visits will be conducted at our study site at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware. In Part 2, your child will be asked to complete tests such as a physical exam, a learning test, joint flexibility test, heart test, a lung test, and have blood collected.
Part 3: Will include about 2 visits and these visits will be completed at our study site at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware. In Part 3 of this study, your child will be asked to complete tests such as a heart exam, an MRI, a test on how their brain learns, and a lung test.
