If you or your child have health coverage through Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), your state will be deciding over the next 12 months whether your family still qualifies for this coverage. Your care team at Nemours Children’s Health wants to make sure you have the information needed to make informed decisions.
DISCLAIMER: The following information does not constitute legal advice. Please call your state agency with specific questions. To find out if you are eligible to continue with coverage, make sure your personal information is up to date with the state.
Find specific information for your state below.
How do I update my personal information?
Contact your state’s Medicaid office to make sure they have your updated address, email, phone number and any recent name changes for you or a family member. Here are a few ways to do that:
Should I apply for health care coverage renewal?
If you are eligible to renew your health care coverage, you’ll receive a renewal letter in the mail from your state Medicaid agency. Complete this renewal form and return it right away to help avoid a gap in Medicaid or CHIP coverage. Contact your state Medicaid office with any questions or concerns regarding your renewal.
What if I lose health care coverage?
A loss of health care coverage is concerning. You or your child still may be eligible for coverage through your employer or through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Call for details. You can also try a state-based exchange. Visit or call for details. To confirm that your selected plan is accepted by Nemours Children’s, visit our insurance page.
If your family no longer qualifies for Medicaid or CHIP and you need financial assistance, visit our Finanacial Assistance page or call a Nemours Financial Advocate.
