Our Leadership: Hans Alvarez

As Senior Vice President for Audit Services, Hans Alvarez is responsible for all internal audits prepared for leadership. Hans reports to the Nemours Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Business Services Officer and to the Finance, Audit and Compliance Committee of the Nemours Children's Board of Directors. In his role, he is responsible for leading internal audit activities and data analytics that support both the Internal Audit and the Compliance and Ethics functions.

Hans has more than 20 years of experience in health care. Before joining Nemours in 2009, he was the Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Internal Audit and Chief Information Security Officer for Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville, Florida. Preceding his work at Brooks, Hans was a Senior Auditor in KPMG’s Jacksonville office, where he worked with health care, community-owned utilities and not-for-profit clients.

Mr. Alvarez received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans and his Master’s degree from the University of Florida.

Hans lives in Jacksonville with his daughter, Bianca.
