The Nemours CARE (Children at Risk Evaluation) Program at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware provides the support and guidance caregivers need to help children who are at risk of abuse or have a safety concern.
Children and teens are welcomed into a safe and comfortable place – taking the first step towards getting the help they need. From there, our trained team including a specialty pediatrician, nurse practitioner, medical assistant and social worker will work together to determine if your child has an injury, has a medical condition, may be the victim of abuse or neglect, or has a safety concern.
Sometimes our care team sees that a child needs additional help. In those cases, we will work with our partners at the Delaware Children’s Advocacy Center to have a forensic interview. A forensic interview is a special way of asking questions that helps kids feel comfortable while being structured to learn if a child is safe.
If you feel like a child might be unsafe or experiencing abuse or neglect, we are here to help. Call our CARE Program office and our experienced medical team will guide you through the process.
