Nemours CARE Program, Delaware Valley
The Nemours CARE (Children at Risk Evaluation) Program at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children provides the support and guidance caregivers need to help children who are at risk of abuse or have a safety concern.
Children and teens are welcomed into a safe and comfortable place – taking the first step towards getting the help they need. From there, our trained team including a specialty pediatrician, nurse practitioner, medical assistant and social worker will work together to determine if your child has an injury, has a medical condition, may be the victim of abuse or neglect, or has a safety concern.
Sometimes our care team sees that a child needs additional help. In those cases, we will work with our partners at the Delaware Children’s Advocacy Center to have a forensic interview. A forensic interview is a special way of asking questions that helps kids feel comfortable while being structured to learn if a child is safe.
