Nemours Children's Health offers pediatric residencies in internal medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) in the Delaware Valley, as well as pediatric neurology residencies in the Delaware Valley and Jacksonville, Fla.

Residency Programs in Delaware Valley

Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) and Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware are pleased to offer two different specialty programs.


Internal Medicine-Pediatrics

In coordination with Christiana Care Health System, we offer four appointments each year in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. Training is integrated right from the start, and most graduates go on to work with family medicine physicians, internists and pediatricians in multispecialty practices.

Pediatrics/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The combined Pediatrics/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) program is a five-year residency plus a one-year fellowship. The training takes place at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware in Wilmington, Del., and other sites throughout the Delaware Valley, such as Thomas Jefferson University, Magee Rehabilitation, Moss Rehab, Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Bryn Mawr hospitals.

Pediatric Neurology Residency Program

The combined Pediatric Neurology Program is a five-year residency. The training takes place at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware in Wilmington, Del., and other sites throughout the Delaware Valley, such as Glen Mills, and Lancaster in Pennsylvania; and Deptford in New Jersey.

Pediatric Neurology Residency Program in Florida

In Jacksonville, Fla., Nemours supports a Pediatric Neurology Residency Program in partnership with the Mayo Clinic. One resident will be accepted into the program each year, for a total of three residents in the program at any given time.
