Get to Know Me
I chose orthopedics because I love helping people get back on their feet, and I looked at how happy Orthopedic surgeons were 20 years into their practice. That is always a good sign that you have chosen a career path wisely!
Why I Treat Children
I was once a kid myself! Growing up I was a babysitter and a nanny, so I kind of grew up around kids. When I did mission work in Guatemala, I gravitated toward taking care of children. When I became interested in pediatric orthopedics, I started focusing on deformity correction because that mostly affects children.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m passionate about being a doctor in general, and a doctor at Nemours in particular. Also, I think it’s important for people to learn to take care of themselves. As health issues, smoking and obesity are personal hot-buttons for me.
Make A Difference
I love what I do, and enjoy the interaction with parents and kids. I treat the whole patient as an individual, not just their orthopedic needs, and I treat each child as my own.
What I Do For Fun
My husband and I have a young child. We work out a lot, play tennis, go on a lot of hikes, and enjoy traveling.
