Get to Know Me
I’ve been with Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware since 1991, serving as chief of the Emergency Department for much of that time. I’m also a medical editor at KidsHealth.org, our online resource for medical information for families. My husband is also a physician and we have three kids and (a little known fact) a huge PEZ collection!
Why I Treat Children
I’ve always been amazed with children’s positive outlook, even when they’re sick. With three kids of my own (one of whom has special needs) it’s easy for me to relate to kids and their parents. We are all so fortunate to be alive, and lucky to have every day. I try to make the most of these gifts and encourage others do the same.
Make A Difference
I advocate for programs that promote injury prevention, safety, and ways to reduce infant death. I’ve also worked in third-world hospitals to learn from them and share my knowledge.
What I Do For Fun
I have lots of different interests, including listening to music (especially jazz and Irish and Celtic music), photography, gardening, reading, and travel.
