Get to Know Me
I am married, with five children, three dogs, two ponies, and a fish. I have always enjoyed caring for others, and making people feel secure that their needs are important, that their concerns are heard, and their condition is addressed empathetically, compassionately, respectfully, intelligently, and in a timely manner.
Why I Treat Children
I was introduced to pediatrics at an early age because my mom is a neonatologist, and I always enjoyed going to work with her when I was a child. I would also accompany my dad to work and loved to watch him perform open heart surgery. Working with children has always been natural for me, so pediatrics is a great fit.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m passionate about giving kids a chance to succeed, regardless of their medical condition. When I see my patients who are survivors and they tell me they have resumed playing their favorite sport, graduated from high school or college, are attending nursing school or medical school, getting married, having their first child... such news gives me pause to be grateful for the privilege to care for so many heroes.
Make A Difference
I am the president of a nonprofit organization established in memory of my brother, Michael, who died at a young age. Our mission is to provide education and home repairs for the underprivileged. I believe, and I teach my kids, that volunteerism and community service must be an integral part of our lives.
What I Do For Fun
I most enjoy participating in my children's extracurricular activities, including horseback riding, soccer, baseball, track and field, field hockey, and trampoline. Other activities include photography, writing, reading, caring for our horses, and spending time with my extended family and friends.
