Get to Know Me

Dr. Margaux Barnes joined Nemours in November 2020, after a position in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Barnes earned her doctorate in clinical/medical psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she also completed a residency in clinical psychology at Brown University and UAB. She then completed her training with a fellowship in adolescent medicine, where she further developed her interest in the impact of health behaviors on medical and mental health outcomes in youth with chronic illness. Dr. Barnes’ primary clinical interests include behavioral sleep medicine and cystic fibrosis.

Why I Treat Children

I treat children with chronic illnesses to help them build strength, hope, and the confidence to create a future where their diagnosis does not define their dreams.

What I'm Passionate About

I am passionate about helping children with chronic illness develop healthy behaviors, including strong sleep habits, because empowering them with lifelong skills can improve their well being, resilience, and overall quality of life.

How I Try to Make A Difference

I strive to make a meaningful difference by showing up for every child every day and meeting them exactly where they are, honoring them and their family’s unique strengths, challenges, and journey.
