Get to Know Me
A Georgia native who grew up playing competitive soccer, Taylor found her passion for sports medicine at an early age. After completing her undergraduate degree, she continued on to Nova Southeastern University in Jacksonville, Florida for physician assistant training, where she received a master's in medical science in 2018. She gained experience in orthopedics working with adult patients for upper extremity and sports injuries, along with total joint replacements. After her transition to Nemours Children's, she still provides adult orthopedic care through a yearly mission trip where she helps perform joint replacements for patients who cannot afford the procedure.
Why I Treat Children
Children offer a unique combination of fun and resilience. Seeing a child start their journey with us from an injury to a child ready for anything gives me a sense of purpose. Growing up playing sports, I remember pivotal interactions I had with my care team and look forward to providing that same encouragement to another child.
What I'm Passionate About
I am passionate about injury prevention and, if injured, then rehabilitation. Treatment of the athlete doesn't stop when they leave our office and collaborating with physical therapists, athletic trainers, parents, and coaches helps keep kids healthy and in their sport.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I encourage kids to think about their goals and what they want to do with their lives. Even if it’s a silly answer at a young age, I like to get them thinking on what will give them purpose and make them happy. I enjoy meeting kids at all stages of life that have plans for all walks of life. This gives them thought beyond their injury and motivation to get better.
