Convenient Follow-Up Appointments by Video

We offer follow-up appointments through scheduled, live video visits. You can avoid waiting rooms and save travel time. Ask your doctor if this is an option for your family.

What to Expect

Initial consultations are performed in person at our Neuroinflammatory Clinic in Jacksonville. You’ll have the option for telemedicine appointments for follow-ups, should they be needed.

While every child’s specific treatment may vary, here’s generally what you can expect when you visit.

Before Your First Visit

When we receive a referral to see your child, we will start the process of obtaining all prior imaging and medical records. We’ll reach out to see when you are available to be seen in our clinic and will assist in your appointment scheduling.

Although we make every effort to obtain prior records before your visit, this is not always possible for imaging. Please bring any imaging your child has completed on disks to your first appointment so we can upload and review the images.

First Visit

Be prepared for your first visit with the team to last 1-2 hours. This will include meeting both the doctor and nurse practitioner, where they will:

  • Obtain a full medical history
  • Conduct a thorough exam
  • Review prior imaging and/or labs
  • Provide a full assessment
  • Discuss recommendations and next steps
  • Help you facilitate any orders for labs, imagine, medications, and/or infusions that may be required after your appointment

Traveling to See Us

Please let us know if you have any difficulties with transportation or housing accommodations for your upcoming appointment. If you’re traveling from outside of Duval County, you may be eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. Please notify us at least two weeks in advance of your appointment to place a referral on your behalf.

If you are not local to Jacksonville, we ask that you please continue to follow up with your local neurologist or referring provider, as well as your primary care physician/pediatrician. Our team will be happy to reach out to discuss management plans and strategies with them.
