Bladder Care Designed for Kids
Bladder and voiding disorders can make urination difficult, painful, or embarrassing for many children. At Nemours Children’s, our Bladder Optimization and Ongoing Support and Treatment (BOOST) Program provides individualized care and innovative techniques to help children improve control of their urinary function. The BOOST Program is part of our award-winning urology care in the Delaware Valley, where we treat thousands of children for urinary and voiding concerns every year — including children 6 years and older struggling with bedwetting.

Meet Our BOOST Program Team in Delaware Valley
Meet our team of experts, including our skilled advanced practice providers (APPs) and board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians. At Nemours, your child benefits from a dedicated team of urology specialists who collaborate seamlessly to provide complete care. We offer services at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and other locations throughout Delaware Valley/Greater Philadelphia area.
Programs & Services
Every child's situation is different, and each one deserves sensitive, individualized care that helps them manage their condition. At Nemours, BOOST Program appointments are offered at every urology specialty care location to make it as convenient as possible for families.
Other highlights of our care include:
- Personalized care. We create treatment plans tailored to each child, offering options like behavioral strategies, medications, biofeedback, neuromodulation, and Botox therapy.
- Advanced neuromodulation. We offer minimally invasive percutaneous tibial neuromodulation (PTNM) as well as implantable sacral neuromodulation.
- Comfort during testing. For procedures such as voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) or urodynamics, we provide sedation and Child Life specialists to keep children comfortable.
- Support services. Social workers and others provide coping and support and help you connect to other services and resources you may need.
- Team-based approach. Our specialists team up with experts in other areas, such as GI, pelvic floor therapy, sleep medicine, and psychology for comprehensive care.
- Trusted expertise. We treat over 1,000 children annually for daytime voiding issues and more than 500 for enuresis.

Convenient Follow-Up Appointments by Video
We offer follow-up appointments through scheduled, live video visits. You can avoid waiting rooms and save travel time. Ask your doctor if this is an option for your family.
Our care team members created this coordinated program so they could help kids and teens with the physical, social, and emotional issues related to bladder problems. Your child's first visit is a longer appointment, designed to give our team time for a thorough evaluation.
It’s also helpful for patients to arrive with a comfortably full bladder to ensure we can conduct any necessary tests. Your child may:
- Have an imaging study (a renal and/or bladder ultrasound) to get a picture of their kidneys and bladder.
- Be asked to provide a urine sample.
- Be instructed to pee into a special seat called a Uroflow machine, which measures the speed and pattern of their urine stream.
Once we understand what's causing your child’s symptoms, the BOOST Program builds a personalized treatment plan — one that uses proven techniques and a collaborative team approach to help them regain confidence and control.
