Inpatient Rehabilitation
About Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Program
Children who are admitted to our hospital and need inpatient therapeutic and rehabilitation services typically have physical therapy, occupational therapy, and/or speech therapy at least six days a week for a minimum of 15 hours a week. One of the criteria for admission into our program is that your child must be medically stable enough for this intensity of therapy.
What to Expect With Inpatient Rehabilitation
We’ll start by evaluating your child and talking about therapy goals. Then we can provide an estimated length of stay.
Some children only need to stay for a week. Others can benefit from staying up to eight weeks.
You don’t have to stay overnight with your child. However, your involvement is important and will help aid in your child’s recovery.
We try to make things as comfortable as possible for families. Most of our rooms are private, can sleep up to one adult caregiver, and include a private bathroom, TV, secure safe, a couch for sleeping, a mini fridge, and private closet space.
Several rooms have an overhead lift system to help with bed mobility in and out of bed. All facilities have on-site laundry and a Child Life playroom.

Yes! Our goal is to build caregiver independence for return to home. During your child’s stay, our nursing and therapy staff will provide caregivers with any necessary training and education prior to discharge.
Our program care coordinator or case manager will also set your family up with all necessary medical supplies and equipment to safely care for your child at home. We can assist in setting up follow-up medical appointments or outpatient therapy evaluations.
If cleared to eat by mouth, your child will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily through our in-room dining services. Caregivers may order additional meals through in-room dining for a fee. Each hospital has multiple dining options available in the cafeteria.
